Why KT Welfare Development Foundation
Temples have for millennia served as centres for spiritual growth where devotees could spend time in communion with the divine away from the worries of their daily lives and thereby rejuvenate their soul, mind and body. They have also acted as spaces for learning and arts, as well as promoted solidarity among communities in their vicinity through various activities and festivals.
However, a large number of these places of worship remain in a state of neglect and dilapidation due to various reasons such as disinterest among local residents, lack of direction, inability to provide reasonable compensation to temple staff, and insufficient funds. KT Welfare Development Foundation was formed with the intent to address these challenges and restore the glory of our temples so they serve to full capacity in their role as spiritual centres. (Go to Mission)
The leaders of the Foundation have years of experience facilitating such efforts started by local communities. (Go to Completed Projects). They recognised the need for a platform that can share such initiatives with the larger society and garner more support. The Foundation plans to concentrate on temples in Kerala in the initial phase and will expand its scope to other states later.
As the saying goes, an ocean is formed of little drops of water, so we are looking forward to your encouragement and contributions.
